Thursday 14th December 2006 was another great night out for SHINE, as 16 teams battled it out for the David Beckham Academy European Corporate Cup.

The SHINE team didn’t win, but we did reach the Quarter Finals and won one match 4-0, the highest winning score of the night. More importantly, the tournament raised £100,000 for projects funded by SHINE, money that will enable hundreds more children and young people to improve their educational achievement levels and raise their game at school.

At the end of the tournament, David expressed his gratitude to all those who had organised the event and participated on the night. He said:

“Thanks to all of you who have made this evening such a success. SHINE is a fantastic charity which is very close to my heart. They do a lot of great work helping thousands of children recognise and realise their true potential.”
