On Thursday 8th December, The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt Hon. Gordon Brown, and his wife, Mrs Sarah Brown, hosted a Christmas Party on behalf of SHINE.

Forty children and their teachers from six of SHINE’s projects were invited to No. 11 Downing Street to meet Gordon and Sarah Brown and to have an afternoon of fun and celebration. The children were treated to a puppet show, a magician and a storyteller, and made their own crowns and treasure chests.

A number of SHINE children were also invited to design this year’s Treasury Christmas card, with the winning design created by a pupil from SHINE on Saturday @ Hungerford Primary School in Islington.
