16 March 2011: SHINE is delighted to have been chosen by Bunbury Cricket Club as its Charity of the Year in 2011/12, its 25th Anniversary.

bunbury_cricket_logo resizedSince it was founded by Dr David English CBE MBE, Bunbury has raised more than £14 million for a large number of charities. It has also played an important role in talent spotting some of the country’s most talented young cricketers. To date, 191 players have graduated from Bunbury’s Under 15s Festival to first class cricket; 53 have also played for England.

Quite apart from the fundraising potential, SHINE will be promoted at every Bunbury event over the coming year. These include its 20-plus celebrity cricket matches, the Bunbury Schools’ Festival in July and at the Bunbury XI v Eric Clapton XI cricket match at Lord’s in early September.

As Charity of the Year, SHINE’s logo will feature on Bunbury CC shirts and sweaters. In addition, Bunbury will be promoting SHINE in all its match programmes and other publications over the next 12 months. This gives SHINE a valuable opportunity to introduce our work to a far wider audience.

We are extremely grateful to Bunbury for choosing SHINE and very excited about the year ahead.
