1 April 2011: We are delighted to announce that the 2011 SHINE Benefit Dinner will be held on Thursday 17th November at Old Billingsgate Market, in the heart of the City.
In recent years, SHINE has headed north to the Roundhouse, and then moved south to Battersea Power Station. This year, however, we’ll be super-central – with a reservation at Old Billingsgate Market on the north bank of the River Thames.

2004 – Kool & the Gang in concert
Last time SHINE was here, in 2004, Kool and the Gang played a barnstorming concert that even saw guests singing and dancing up on stage. That’s a lot to live up to. Fortunately, our production crew is already hard at work and 2011 is shaping up to be another great night out that is sophisticated, stylish and lots of fun.

Most importantly, the 2011 SHINE Benefit Dinner will enable us to carry on our work providing disadvantaged children and teenagers with the educational opportunities they so badly need. To date, SHINE has supported 46,000 children; joining us this November will enable us to help thousands more children boost their confidence, increase their grades and improve their lives.
The evening in brief
2005 – The Banqueting House
SHINE Benefit Dinners begin with champagne, cocktails and canapés, followed by a superb dinner with fine wines. Once dinner has concluded, a brief video explains how SHINE is helping disadvantaged children in London and Manchester, after which guests can pledge money towards SHINE projects.
Guests are then treated to a private concert from a major singing talent. Previous events have featured music from bands including Bryan Ferry, Lulu, Kool and the Gang, Status Quo and Sister Sledge. Drinks will remain freely available from the open bars until the end of the event at 1am.
