SHINE is charity partner at BRILLIANT 2026 in Liverpool: Come and meet the team
Members of the SHINE team will be joined on the SHINE stand by SHINE project leads: Lucy Huelin, founder of Vocabulous, and Chris Williams, creator of Chatta.
SHINE is proud to be official charity partner for BRILLIANT 2025, the North’s biggest education show, taking place in Liverpool next month.
Members of the SHINE team – including CEO Fiona Spellman, Senior Programme Manager Eleanor Heathcote, and Head of Communications Adrian Braddy – will be in attendance. They’ll be joined on the SHINE stand by SHINE project leads: Lucy Huelin, founder of the online literacy programme Vocabulous, and Chris Williams, creator of the Chatta teaching approach.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about Let Teachers SHINE, SHINE’s annual funding competition which offers grants of up to £25,000 to help teachers develop innovative classroom projects. Past winners include Bruno Reddy, creator of Times Tables Rock Stars, and Colin Hegarty, founder of Hegarty Maths (now Sparx Learning) – two of the UK’s most successful edtech innovators.
“We’re thrilled to be a charity partner for BRILLIANT 2025,” said Fiona. “With all the challenges currently facing schools, there’s never been a better time to share and collaborate on approaches that can better support learners. We can’t wait to showcase some of the amazing practice being developed by teachers supported by SHINE.”
During the festival, Fiona will be joined by Lucy for a roundtable discussion exploring how innovations in education technology can best support children from disadvantaged backgrounds. With the rapid pace of technological change, the session will ask:
- What are the main opportunities and risks for teachers using new technologies?
- How can technology help make education more responsive, inclusive, and effective – particularly for those who need it most?
BRILLIANT takes place on Tuesday 11 November 2025 at the Exhibition Centre, ACC Liverpool, from 8.30pm-5pm. Entry is free and open to educators from across the UK.
The festival’s mission is to empower educators, transform education, and equip students with the skills and mindset needed for a brilliant future.
The event will bring together 1,500+ educators and industry experts, 80+ world-class speakers and 60+ exhibitors across multiple theatres to explore key themes such as AI, future careers, esports and gamification, SEND and inclusive education, ED&I, and much more.
